The traffic violation charges against Gucci Mane have been dropped, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. At the first appearance hearing on Wednesday morning (November 3), the judge told the southern rapper that the case was being dropped “for want of prosecution” but also warned him that the charges could be re-filed at a later date.
Gucci was then released from the Fulton County Jail in Georgia after having spent the night in lock up behind offenses that include damage to government property, obstruction, driving without a license, reckless driving, running a red light or stop sign, failure to maintain a lane and driving on the wrong side of the road.
More information about the circumstances surrounding his arrest has been released and apparently it all stems from an argument Gucci, whose real name is Radric Davis, was having with an unidentified man. An off-duty officer reported seeing the MC’s white Hummer being driven recklessly and when dispatched officers arrived at the scene they saw him and another man outside an auto body shop fighting. The arresting officers tried to diffuse the situation but Davis ignored them and hit the man. Police then had to use pepper spray to subdue him.
So far no one from Gucci’s camp has responded to the incident.
