Wiz Khalifa Arrested For Drug Possession – [VIDEO]
Posted: Tuesday – November 9, 2010
Wiz Khalifa was arrested in Greenville, North Carolina Monday night (November 8). The Pittsburgh-based rapper had just finished performing at East Carolina University and was detained after police searched his tour bus and found narcotics and other drug-related items.
He was charged with a felony count of trafficking in marijuana, a felony count of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle/place for sale or storage of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, which is a misdemeanor. Nine others in his entourage were also arrested and according to reports, are still in police custody. The MC was released Tuesday morning though after posting $300,000 bail said a spokesperson for the Pitts County Detention Center to MTV News.
Khalifa, whose real name is Cameron Thomaz, is known for his love of weed. He once boasted during an interview that the drug habit cost him about $10,000 a month and in October he launched his own brand of rolling papers.
So far no one from Wiz’s camp or Atlantic Records, which recently signed him to a multi-album deal, has responded to the incident and nor has ECU. But fellow rapper Curren$y has released a video that seemingly shows the police searching Khalifa’s tour bus and arresting him and several others.
