Hip-Hop personality and comedian Nick Cannon announced in an interview with XXL that he will be taking shots at rapper Eminem, who has made some controversial stabs at Cannon’s wife, Mariah Carey, in the past. The insults are scheduled to come via Cannon’s upcoming comedy special on Showtime, as part of his ongoing stand-up tour across America.
“I say how I feel about. I mean it’s definitely an interesting take – I’m not trying to stir up old news,” says Cannon. “That’s the thing that my stand-up special is actually about. It’s everybody getting to hear what I have to say first-hand instead of [hearing it] through interviews and hearsay.”
The feud between Cannon and Eminem began prior to the release of Em’s Relapse album and continued to grow via some of Em’s tracks on both Relapse and Recovery.
Cannon went on to comment about his comedy special, “You get to see how I feel about it. And I think that’s why a lot of people are going to be intrigued to watch. I talk about everything from Eminem, to my marriage, to how I feel about other celebrities and all that stuff. So, it’s an interesting take. People have been buzzing about it. I’ve been on the road with it for the last year, and everywhere I go it’s a standing ovation. So, I think it should be well-received.”
Despite Cannon’s optimism, the Detroit emcee still has the upper hand with a larger audience. Eminem recently became the first Hip-Hop artist to have two albums go Diamond with 10 million albums sold.
