T.I. Helps Families Reconnect With Fellow Inmates
While back in jail, Atlanta rapper T.I. has been attempting to right his wrongs and help out fellow inmates.
Over this Memorial Day weekend, T.I. sponsored a bus trip for 46 family members of 14 fellow inmates to visit the Forest City Correctional Facility.
“I’ve been blessed to receive tons and tons of mail from my fans, friends, and family, as well as get visits on a regular basis. Unfortunately, some guys aren’t as fortunate. There are a lot of good dudes in here that haven’t been able to see there loved ones in years. Their families can’t afford the trip so I wanted to help out.”
The families of the inmates took part in the bus trip dubbed To See A Love One, boarded a chartered bus in Atlanta and Alabama on Saturday (May 28) and visited the prison on this past Sunday and Monday.
T.I. is currently serving an 11-month sentence for violation of probation after an L.A. drug test. In September of 2010, T.I. and his wife Tiny were pulled over and arrested for a driving violation and drug possession in L.A. The charges were dropped and T.I. was found in violation of his probation, which sent him back to prison.
T.I. is set to be released from prison on September 29.
