YELAWOLF – Radioactive

Michael Wayne Atha, better known as Yelawolf, is quite a talented rapper. Having been in Missy Elliott’s reality series Road To Stardom, then releasing an album and some mixtapes, and now his album Radioactive is nothing short of terrific. Radioactive is a great album that I think everyone is going to love. It’s produced by Eminem. Like I said, he is quite talented and he really should have more mainstream play.

Radioactive is a great album that I think everyone is going to love. It’s produced by Eminem. Like I said, he is quite talented and he really should have more mainstream play.

On the album, the songs Let’s Roll (featuring Kid Rock), Hard White (Up In The Club) (featuring Lil Jon), and Throw It Up (featuring Gangsta Boo & Eminem) are examples of how awesome and diverse the beats on this album are. Let’s Roll has head bopping beat, Hard White has gritty beat, and Throw It Up has a slower beat. Radioactive is filled with interesting beats, produced by Eminem himself, his label boss at Shady Records.

A standout line from the song Hard White is “Cuz after me they’ll only be wannabe’s and mostly ain’t never gonna be’s” — this line is really wonderful. Yelawolf is showing such confidence in his rap game, as he should. Another standout line is “We the hardest you and me, rock and roll baby”, from the song The Hardest Love Song In The World. It’s not like most love songs, it truly is hard. Throughout that song he talks about horror movies and a bunch of other crazy things which makes the song so “hard”.

Overall, this album is terrific. He collaborated with Kid Rock, Eminem, Lil Jon, Mystikal, Rittz, Gangsta Boo, Shawty Fatt, Poo Bear, Priscilla Renea, Fefe Dobson, Mona Moua, and Killer Mike — they all give the album a bonus of amazing. I think this is the album that should make Yelawolf much more mainstream. He has slow, gritty and upbeat beats on this album and it’s produced by the great Eminem. Yelawolf’s lyrics in all these songs are raw, edgy and great. Radioactive is definitely an album to be vibin’ to this year and years to come.
