Usher Breaks Silence On Son’s Pool Accident
Usher is reaching out to the two men who saved his son’s life on Monday when the child’s arm got stuck in a pool drain. “I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering,” read a statement from the singer. “I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family’s well-being. I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock.” In particular, he shouted out the men who rushed to save the five-year-old when aunt Rena Oden as unable to free the child’s arm from a pool drain after he’d jumped in to try and retrieve a toy that had fallen in.

They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them,” Usher wrote.
The star’s ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, has reportedly filed legal papers seeking temporary primary custody of the couple’s two children in light of the incident. According to TMZ, Raymond claims that Usher is out of town the majority of each month and has delegated responsibility for the children to others.
In the papers, filed by Raymond on Tuesday in Fulton County, Georgia, she seeks decision-making power over the children’s education, healthcare, religion and extracurricular activities. A hearing date for the custody request has not yet been set.
