The-Dream Says Split Made Him Suicidal

Posted: Tuesday – July 20, 2010

The-Dream recently opened up about his split with Christina Milian in the form of an open letter, and according to the singer/songwriter, the end of their relationship made him suicidal. He also denies that another woman is the cause for their separation and said that there were a lot of things going on behind the scenes.

“It’s easy to say that it’s because of another woman or a new relationship but truthfully, it’s not. I would never intentionally hurt a soul and everyone around me knows that,” wrote The-Dream in the letter titled In My Own Words.

“There was so much going on in me and Christina’s personal world that I tried to deal with it as delicately as I could and tried to regain my footing. Instead of being direct in order to cause even more hurt or hurt someone’s feelings, I carried the weight in secret!”

Dream also went on to say that the shame of having failed in their relationship weighed so heavy upon him that he cried many nights and was suicidal.

“Even though we were trying to overcome personal things between us, I was simply scared and embarrassed to let everyone know we were failing and have now failed,” said the LoveKing singer.

“I’ve cried about this for months, after interviews, after prayer and I’ve tried to take my own life at a point because of the failure that was looming. But I was reminded by my mother that I am not ‘Superman’ and its okay to lose sometimes.”

The two recently welcomed their daughter, Violet, into the world earlier this year in March and they apparently split soon after.
