Kanye West Calls Big Sean The ‘Beyonce Of Rap’

On Tuesday night (June 7), the Hip-Hop industry gathered to get a preview of the highly anticipated Big Sean album Finally Famous. The night was filled with compliments words of advice for the rapper and of course G.O.O.D. Music.

The event was held in the Highline Room at the Standard Hotel, with many big names in the game in attendance including Swizz Beatz, DJ Khaled, Pusha T, Joe Budden, Kid Cudi, and Kanye West.

The event started off with Sean taking the stage and speaking to everyone about the album and about his journey. He thanked everyone from his friends and family to his fans for all their support. As he was delivering his speech he became teary-eyed.

“I’m not no bitch or nothing, man; this is a real moment,” said Sean as he collected himself.

Sean began to play Finally Famous in its entirety, occasionally rapping along with the songs. From the reviews that have been coming in since Tuesday, some songs really stand out from the rest. All and all the feedback has been mostly positive.

After the album ended, G.O.O.D Music founder Kanye West, who showed up late, gave an excuse for his tardiness. “I apologize I was a little bit late, I had a throne to watch.”

West went on to talk about Sean and his amazing journey. “I believe Sean’s story is one of the most amazing ever, because he literally got signed off a freestyle,” said Yeezy.

“To now, and I say it all the time, having the potential to be one of the biggest artists in the world. I feel like he can be like what Beyonce is to R&B, that he can be that to rap music. As far as G.O.O.D. Music go, the swag is just all the way up, this is what we do to the fullest!”
