Rapper and actor Drake has graduated high school.
During the time Drake should have been in high school, he was filming Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation. He played the character of Jimmy Brooks. Jimmy was an aspiring rapper, and most of the world was introduced to Drake’s musical talents through the show.
The YMCMB artist announced on Twitter Wednesday (October 17) that he scored a 97% on his last final exam and an 88% overall in his last required course. “One of the greatest feelings of my entire life. As of tonight I have graduated high school!” he tweeted.
Drake also thanked his teacher Kim Janzen for her unwavering support and dedication to making this happen. He explained that a lot of work went into this endeavor, but it was all worth it.
“Thank you to my teacher Kim Janzen for spending the last 5 months working tirelessly with me!! OVO SOUND.”
Back in August, Drake was home in his native Toronto for OVO Fest. In an interview with Now Toronto, he said that after OVO Fest, he was going to focus on finally graduating high school.
“That’s my main focus after OVO Fest. I only have one credit left and I’m really excited about that,” he said.
