Will.I.Am To Join Cast Of “Sesame Street”

Sesame Street just became a little cooler as rapper/producer Will.I.Am will make his debut appearance on the 41st season premiere of the kid classic show on September 27.

After fans questioned his decision on wearing black face paint during his MTV VMA performance with Nicki Minaj, Will.I.Am will make a speedy career recovery performing a new song created for the show entitled What I Am.

While wearing matching glasses with Bert, as in Bert and Ernie, Will.I.Am sings of self appreciation and perseverance surrounded by dancing puppets. Usually known for his high energy performances, Will shows us his laid back persona while delivering lyrics such as, “If what I am is what’s in me, then I’ll stay strong that’s who I’ll be, and I will always be the best me that I can be”.

What I Am teaches children to be themselves no matter what they are, be-it a gigantic bird or a futuristic Rap/Pop star with a gumby.

Since its inception in 1969, Sesame Street has been a learning staple for children through the incorporation of music and fun in their lessons. Will.I.Am is joining an elite group of entertainers to be featured with classic puppets like Big Bird, Elmo, and Cookie Monster. Other entertainers to join in on the G-rated fun throughout the years are Wyclef Jean, India.Arie, Bill Cosby, Beyonce, and Alicia Keys.
