Ross and his girlfriend were shot at on January 27 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in a drive by shooting. Fortunately, no one was injured in the shooting attempt although the car Ross was driving did crash.
Speaking to MTV News, Pusha T explained that he and Ross had the same mix engineer, and he said that he had rung up the Florida MC to check if he was ok.
“I don’t wanna hear about that with anybody,” Pusha said. “I definitely like hit him up like, ‘Yo just let me know you’re okay.’ We have the same mix engineer and I ended up speaking to him later on that day and he was like, ‘Yeah, he’s just laying back,'” said Pusha. “That was enough for me, but it’s tough out here. It’s tough out here for an artist. This is the only profession where you don’t really leave your core. You don’t really leave your upbringing. You don’t really leave that behind, you stay in it, lyrically and so on and so forth. You can’t really get out of it, you can’t get away from it. I don’t care how much money you have.”
