Lil Wayne is under STRICT ORDERS from his doctor to keep his ass off airplanes for the foreseeable future … after his mid-flight medical emergency last week, TMZ has learned. We broke the story … Weezy was hospitalized Friday following two seizure-like episodes on board back-to-back flights. He’s been recovering since at his mama’s house — but sources close to the rapper tell us, Weezy’s doctor has ordered him to rest for the next week at least … which means no working, and definitely no flying.

Tyga INSISTS … he’s not some broke-ass squatter who’s refusing to pay rent on a Malibu crib — in fact, he claims he just bought a $6.5-million mansion 20 miles away. A Malibu landlord named Gholamreza Rezai sued Tyga, claiming the rapper is screwing him on the $16,000-per-month rent … but continues to live in the home. But a rep for Tyga tells Gutta World the lawsuit is 100% B.S … insisting he gave the landlord the necessary 30 days notice before he left … and everything should be square.

As the countdown to the “American Idol” premiere inches closer, Fox desperately tries to solidify a third judge for the talent show. Kanye West is reportedly in talks to become one of the coveted panelist, says TMZ who also claims West is “on the fence,”about joining the show.

Chief Keef was in Atlanta this past weekend to perform at Birthday Bash, during which time he revealed that he’d inked a new deal with Interscope Records. We already knew that Birdman was courting the Chicago rapper, but T.I. told MTV News that he’d had his eye on Keef as well. Backstage at Birthday Bash, Tip gave the youngster the ultimate co-sign. “Chief Keef, I feel like he represents a part of America,” T.I. told MTV News. “He represents a part of the youth in America that ain’t really got a voice right now.

Nicki Minaj made her irritation with the constant comparisons to Lady Gaga apparent during a recent interview with ABC’s Nightline. She dared the network’s Juju Chang to find any similarities between her and the outlandish pop singer, and for the most part dismissed and minimized the things they do share in common and harped on one glaring difference: she’s a rapper.

“We’re in completely different lanes,” said Minaj of Gaga after admitting that being compared to the pop diva “irks” her. “I’m a rapper… Gaga’s a fantastic artist, you know, she paved her way. She’s opened her own lane. But I think that I have my own lane. And we never cross. Ever. So, you know, I really don’t get the comparison anymore. Our music doesn’t sound the same. Our stage presence is not the same. I just can’t see the similarities.”

Chang pointed out how both sport wigs and crazy outfits but Nicki had a response for both. “Every female in this game — every female in this game — wears wigs,” she retorted. Adding “Over-the-top costumes? Try again!” after imitating a buzzer sound.

Minaj has been compared to Gaga since the beginning of her career and her much-talked about Grammy performance only led to more comparisons between the two. But with the release of her sophomore effort, the Young Money rapper has made it clear that she stands tall — alone.

Last year, Cory Gunz earned mad props for his rap on Lil Wayne’s ’6 Foot 7 Foot,’. So far, 2012 is off to a less promising start. As MTV reports, the 24-year-old rapper was arrested  (Jan. 28) in his hometown of the Bronx, N.Y., after being caught with a loaded firearm.

The Young Money MC was picked up around 2PM, and while his father, veteran rhymer Peter Gunz, says police sometimes “like to make an example” out of young hip-hop artists, that doesn’t appear to have been the case here.

“I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I’m hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should ‘look out,’” the elder Gunz told MTV. “According to [the officer], they didn’t know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around.”

He added that it was “definitely an illegal search” and said that the officer “felt bad about the situation” — perhaps because in New York, such gun charges come with mandatory jail time.

This is Cory’s first such offense, and after being taken to the 43rd Precinct, he was transferred to Central Booking. As of Sunday afternoon, he remained in police custody.

“To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it’s heartbreaking,” Peter told MTV. “Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it’s very hard. He’s walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through.”
