As the rap career of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson continues to slowly fizzle into obscurity, the rapper continues to leave his footprints in the movie industry as he is making the transition into also becoming an actor.
Alongside Randall Emmett, Jackson has begun work on his next film, titled “Things Fall Apart”, which was produced and stars the rapper/actor.
The script was penned by 50 and Brian Miller and will be directed by Mario Van Peebles.
Unlike the films “Before I Self Destruct”, “Get Rich Or Die Tryin” or most other films associated with Jackson, this one won’t provide as much focus on the aspect of violence as Jackson will star as a football running back.
Known for his own personal tragedies in life, 50′s character will face his trials in life during his senior year in college.
Under his Cheetah Vision Films banner, the film is set to have production handled under the imprint. Cheetah Vision recently wrapped up “The Gun” which stars Jackson and Val Kilmer.
Clearly becoming more enthusiastic about making film, Jackson spoke with Daily Variety on the process in comparison to making a record.
“You have 90 minutes and 120 pages, compared with three minutes for a song,” Jackson noted. “I’ve become very passionate about making films.”
With films such as “Righteous Kill” and “Home Of The Brave” under his belt in supporting roles and upcoming roles in “Twelve” and “Jekyll and Hyde”, Jackson is surely inching his way out of music and submerging himself behind the silver screen.

50 Cent’s movie company Cheeta Vision Films has inked a deal with Action Jackson Films to produce and finance 3-5 major films a year. The first planned movie is titled The Gun which was written by 50 himself. The movie will start 50 Cent and Val Kilmer (Batman, The Doors, Heat). Shooting will begin next month in Grand Rapids, Michigan with Jesse Terro directing.
The topics stay familiar to 50 with The Gun revolving around friends who are involved in the underground world of gun dealing. The Gun is the first of three feature movies that 50 has already written. “When you write a song, you need to say it in three minutes or it is overkill, but I like creating stories and going in depth with characters,” 50 and Cheetah Vision’s next project after The Gun will be a familiar drama, Jekyll and Hyde which will star Forest Whitaker.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has opted to have some of his very prominent tattoos removed, to better accommodate his burgeoning career in Hollywood.
“I took some of the tattoos off because on the movie set, if we got a six o’clock call time, I have to be there two o’clock the night before,” 50 Cent told AllHipHop.com. “I gotta go through four hours of make up before we go ahead and play the role. So, I just took it off my arm. My right arm.”
The G-Unit founder has not completely done away with his tattoo. He still bears the two on his back, the signature “50 Cent” and “Southside” tattoos.
The move may be working for 50 Cent as he stars in upcoming film Streets Of Blood.
The drama, which stars Val Kilmer, Sharon Stone and Michael Biehn, portrays the street gangs and corrupt law enforcement in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans.
Outside of Hollywood, 50 Cent’s current single “Ok, You’re Right” from his highly anticipated album Before I Self Destruct, continues to receive heavy radio rotation.
The rapper also recently dropped his new mixtapes, War Angel and Forever King, the latter being dedicated to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
