The rapper held a top-secret listening party for his debut solo album, “Dreams and Nightmares,” in a legendary venue Wednesday night, but by the time he arrived, the guests with the most wattage — Jay-Z and Will Smith — were history.

The biggest moment at the MTV VMAs wasn’t aired on TV … it was captured on a live Internet feed … when Rihanna approached Chris Brown on her way to her seat and gave him a HUG AND A KISS.

Chris Lighty, a hip-hop mogul who helped the likes of Sean “Diddy” Combs, 50 Cent and Mariah Carey attain not only hit records, but also lucrative careers outside music, was found dead in his New York City apartment Thursday in an apparent suicide. He was 44. He was found at his home in the Bronx with a gunshot to the head and was pronounced dead there, police said. No note was recovered, but a 9 mm handgun was found and there was no sign of forced entry, said Paul Browne, New York police spokesman. The shooting appears to be self-inflicted, authorities said.

Pop star Rihanna has sued her former accountants for mismanaging the singer’s finances, including claiming they earned huge commissions from concert tours that resulted in her losing millions of dollars. In a lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court that surfaced on Thursday, the 24-year-old singer and her tour company, Tourihanna, is seeking an unspecified amount of compensatory damages and loss of earnings from accountancy firm Berdon LLP and former employees Michael Mitnick and Peter Gounis.

As if she couldn’t be any more overexposed, pop diva Rihanna decided to let it all hang out and roamed the streets of New York City in some sort of a see-through, pink, lacy, strapless bra top thing on Monday afternoon. The 24-year-old “Birthday Cake” singer kept the wardrobe malfunction sexy lingerie as outerwear theme and even rocked what appears to be some sort of ruffled slip as a skirt.

Until yesterday (March 22), that is, when Brown changed his Twitter profile picture to a Vincent van Gogh painting of a weeping man and cryptically posted the phrase “At Eternity’s Gate.”

Both stars have been involved in past high-profile relationships that ended dramatically — Ri with Chris Brown and Ashton most recently with Demi Moore. The new friends also have intertwining social circles — Ashton is close friends with Diddy, who is pals with Rihanna’s mentor Jay-Z.
