What a difference a week makes! Just last Wednesday (Jan. 4) Nick Cannon was hospitalized in Aspen for “mild kidney failure” during a holiday with his wife Mariah Carey and their twins. The rapper turned ‘America’s Got Talent’ host was then airlifted to a hospital in Los Angeles where he went under the knife on January 6 for kidney surgery.
“Just left the operating table and I was awake during the whole procedure. #OUCH,” Nick tweeted after the ordeal. His wife did some tweeting of her own post-surgery, posting on the social media site that “Nick is in stable condition with a good prognosis, hopefully he’ll be discharged within 2 days. As always he’s laughing and in good spirits.”
Well it looks like Mariah’s wish has come true with news today that Nick has been released from the hospital and is healing at home, surrounded by those he loves.
“Nick was released over the weekend to be with his family,” Cannon’s rep tells Us Weekly in a statement. “He is resting and recovering at home and would like to thank everyone who has expressed concern, well wishes and prayers.”
A thankful Mariah also wanted to express her gratitude to fans who sent their positive thoughts and prayers during Cannon’s trying time. “Nick is getting better,” the singer tweeted Sunday. “We love and appreciate all the ongoing kind words.”
Cannon must be as strong as the Superman character he idolizes. The hardworking father of two is expected back at work on his radio show Rollin’ With Nick Cannon, on January 17.

Hip-Hop personality and comedian Nick Cannon announced in an interview with XXL that he will be taking shots at rapper Eminem, who has made some controversial stabs at Cannon’s wife, Mariah Carey, in the past. The insults are scheduled to come via Cannon’s upcoming comedy special on Showtime, as part of his ongoing stand-up tour across America.
“I say how I feel about. I mean it’s definitely an interesting take – I’m not trying to stir up old news,” says Cannon. “That’s the thing that my stand-up special is actually about. It’s everybody getting to hear what I have to say first-hand instead of [hearing it] through interviews and hearsay.”
The feud between Cannon and Eminem began prior to the release of Em’s Relapse album and continued to grow via some of Em’s tracks on both Relapse and Recovery.
Cannon went on to comment about his comedy special, “You get to see how I feel about it. And I think that’s why a lot of people are going to be intrigued to watch. I talk about everything from Eminem, to my marriage, to how I feel about other celebrities and all that stuff. So, it’s an interesting take. People have been buzzing about it. I’ve been on the road with it for the last year, and everywhere I go it’s a standing ovation. So, I think it should be well-received.”
Despite Cannon’s optimism, the Detroit emcee still has the upper hand with a larger audience. Eminem recently became the first Hip-Hop artist to have two albums go Diamond with 10 million albums sold.

Early Monday morning (October 18), breakthrough female emcee Nicki Minaj announced that rap mogul Diddy has been “dismissed” as her manager in favor of industry vet Benny Medina. Medina, who famously managed the careers of superstars like Mariah Carey and Brandy, will be the third manager for the Young Money rapper this year.
According to a statement by Minaj, “By now, everyone should know that I am really strict when it comes to my representation. I had sympathy for [Diddy], however, I feel as if I haven’t gotten the guidance the manager is supposed to give his client. Personally, I feel like I’m being managed by mother. ”
“Even if you play the smallest role on my team,” she continued. “I wish to see progress. I’d like to thank him for everything he has done for me; for taking me under his wing. I wish him the best with repping Rick [Ross]. But now that my album is about to drop, it’s time to get serious and stop playing games.”
This month, Minaj took home 3 BET Awards including Best New Artist and Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. Prior to Diddy, Minaj, whose much-anticipated album Pink Friday is set to drop on November 23, enlisted Waka Flocka Flame’s mother Debbie Atney as manager until April 2010.

It seems like Mariah Carey is finally ready to be all by herself again.
According to a source Mariah Carey booked her hotel rooms in Vegas and got Nick his own separate suite. She got a room for herself, one for her wardrobe, and another room strictly for Nick.
We aren’t jumping to any conclusions but something don’t seem right.

Mariah is on the cover of InTouch and allegedly is talking about gaining baby weight and being a mother.
More Details on the Flipside
According to the cover, Mariah Carey will be a mom but the inside article doesn’t exactly confirm that, although they say she’s very close:
Carey’s focus is now family. While Cannon claims two kids are the goal, Carey says, “Of course, we’d be happy with one. I want to be able to manage the right amount of attention. We are so busy – if you have six kids running around, no one gets what they need. Kids need a lot of attention.”
Cannon reveals, “It’s at the forefront of our minds. We’re very close.”
