Lil Wayne May Have Sentence Extended For “Infraction”

Posted: Friday – May 14, 2010

The rules are just that, and meant to be broken by no one, no matter how much fame and fortune a person has.

For Lil Wayne, the discovery of an MP3, a charger and headphones may have landed the rapper in deeper trouble as there are reports that his actions may cost him extra time on the Island.

Regarding it as an infraction, or a violation, the next step is solely dependent on the level the infraction is when he goes to trial. It has already been rumored that his job as suicide prevention aid could be in jeopardy as well.

“Level one is the worst. Then you have [level] two or three. [This infraction] could be a level one. He has togo on trial, and based on evidence, they’ll make their determination,” according to arepresentative from Riker’s Island, speaking with MTV.

And all the man wants to do is make some music…let’s keep our fingers crossed for the best.

Cory Gunz Speaks On Joining Lil Wayne’s Young Money

Posted: Thursday – May 13, 2010

Cory Gunz officially announced his signing with Young Money Entertainment on Tuesday (May 11). The move has been a few years in the making with reports of him signing to the label being fueled in part by his unreleased verse on Wayne’s Tha Carter III hit single A Millie.

While explaining the delay in the deal, Gunz revealed the history behind him and Weezy linking up together.

“[There were] miscommunication issues. Me and other ventures, a bunch of other paperwork,” said Cory while talking to MTV’s Mixtape Daily. “[Years ago,] Wayne took time out of his schedule. He was promoting Tha Carter II and he took time out of his schedule to come from TRL and 106 [and Park] and come to Sony studio to lay [a verse for one of my tracks]. I was about 17 and it was for my first album, a song called I Gotcha. Wayne did it for free back then. It was a situation that was supposed to go down before, but I was in paperwork with Hov at the time.”

Gunz added, “One thing led to another. I was freed up and he reached out by the powers that be and now I’m here [on his label]. History is about to be made. He just kept it 100. I got nothing but respect for him. Free Wayne.”

After sending shout outs to his new Young Money/Cash Money family, Cory also revealed that Wayne is going to executive-produce his debut Young Money LP, so fans shouldn’t expect to get the currently untitled project until after Weezy F. is released from prison.

Rikers Island Prison Guard Fired For Spying On Lil Wayne

Posted: Thursday – April 29, 2010

A former prison guard at New York’s Rikers Island is out of a job today after being fired for reportedly spying on Lil Wayne.

Amelia Negron is filing a federal lawsuit against the city after she says she was forced to confess to spying on the Young Money head while he continues to serve his 12 month sentence at the facility.

Negron was dismissed from the prison after Rikers officials say she purposely walked into a room where Lil Wayne was being held to sneak a peek at the celebrity.

While she admits to entering the room, the former guard says she was just trying to speak to one of her colleagues.

She tells the New York Daily News that she was asked to leave the celeb’s presence immediately after walking in.

“The door to the area was unlocked, and so I went in to say hello, and that officer said, ‘Hey, you can’t be here. We’ve got a celeb here.’ I said, ‘Okay, no problem,’ turned around and left,”

She then tells the NYDN that one of her superiors offered to “take care of things” if she just admitted that she wanted a chance to see Weezy, so she lied and confessed.

She was fired shortly after on April 19 for “missing too many days of work.”

Rikers Island officials have been quoted saying that her firing was “entirely appropriate.”

She’s suing for harassment and discrimination.

“We’ve got a celeb in here”?

Diddy To Manage Nicki Minaj & Rick Ross

Posted: Friday – April 16, 2010

Young Money princess Nicki Minaj has recently been garnering a lot of press lately.

As previously reported, Nicki recently found herself making headlines after firing her longtime manager and Waka Flocka Flame’s mother, Debra Antney. After the departure, executives and fans alike were expecting a big announcement and it seems that is what we have got.

According to the rumor mill, Nicki has reportedly hired Bad Boy mogul Sean Diddy Combs as her new manager. Although the announcement has yet to be made via either of the celebrities Twitter pages, many are speculating that the news is actually true.

A source close to the entrepreneur/rapper has confirmed that Diddy is not only co-managing Lil Wayne protégé Nicki Minaj but also Rick Ross.

This wouldn’t be a far stretch for Diddy who has helped launch the careers of everyone from Mary J Blige, Jodeci, Lil Kim, Ma$e and his most recent venture with Dirty Money.

There is no word yet from Minaj’s camp regarding the rumors. Minaj’s highly-anticipated debut album is said to be coming in the fall of 2010 via

Young Money/Cash Money/Universal Motown.

We hope this collaboration is true, regardless of what anyone has to say about Diddy, he definitely is a hit maker. We will keep you posted as this story develops.

Lil Wayne Is Hookin Up With A Corrections Officer

Posted: Monday – April 12, 2010

According to multiple websites, Lil Wayne is reportedly dating or seeing an employee of Rikers Island, where he is currently serving his one-year jail senetence. According to an “inside source” Lil Wayne is romantically tied to a prison gaurd nammed Melissa Moore. “Mel has been working there for about three, maybe four years now and takes care of all the, you know, ‘entertainers’ doing little bids in [protective custody,]” the source says. “There really isn’t that big of an age difference, Mel is about 34 and I think he’s 29, right? So it could work out if they got more serious after he gets released — I don’t know everything, but Mel tells me that she has gave him little snacks and whatever magazines and music he wants to listen to… Oh yeah, they do a lot more than just kiss.”

Lil Wayne Leaves A Video Warning For Other MCs: ‘Y’all In Trouble’

Posted: Thursday – April 1, 2010

The fans on Twitter are writing “Free @liltunechi.” The fans on the street are screaming “Free Lil Wayne.” Any way you put it, the people miss one of rap’s most dynamic superstars.

We haven’t sat down with Weezy yet for a new interview, but he left us some more footage of himself before heading to jail last month. In the clip, Wayne is recording songs for his No Ceilings mixtape, and even though the music was coming out great, he wasn’t 100 percent inspired.

“It’s all right, but I really don’t feel it like that,” Wayne said, looking into the camera while shooting his “Nino Brown Story” DVD. Someone off camera jokingly yells “bullsh–.”

“I swear to God,” Wayne insisted. “It’s all right. I’m telling you, rappers now, you better get it up while I’m not feeling it like that. Once I start feeling it like that, y’all in trouble. Right now, I’m rappin’ right now because y’all ain’t heard me in a minute. I don’t really feel it like that. But my artists though … psssh. They’ll eat you n—as’ lunch. We superstars. We don’t battle. We don’t want to be compared to nobody. I teach, I preach and I [lead by example]. Superstars. We breed superstars. I teach them how to be superstars first. You don’t wanna be a rapper, you don’t wanna be a singer, you wanna be a superstar. Therefore you don’t have to rap nor sing. You can do whatever, because you a superstar. It’s easier.”

Wayne recently teamed with another superstar, Eminem. As you know, they filmed the video for “Drop the World” in February, and some new behind-the-scenes pictures have surfaced.

Also, we got a sneak peek at a Wayne video directed by DJ Scoob Doo. They made a movie. Check back soon for more on that one.
