Lil Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being will now be a full-length album as opposed to an EP like it was originally scheduled. Several of the tracks that were slated to be featured on Tha Carter IV will now be featured on the project, which is scheduled to be released on his birthday, September 27.

“I know once he got out [of jail] those songs would be so old to him,” said his manager, Cortez Bryant to SPIN magazine.

As for Tha Carter IV, it will no longer be released on the same day as Weezy’s release from prison in November as previously planned. The New Orleans MC, has been writing down lyrics, a first for him “since 2002 or 2003,” and soon after leaving Rikers he will start working on that LP.

“He’s going to probably start from scratch,” said Bryant. “I know how he records — he’s in the studio every single day. That’s his life.”

I Am Not A Human Being will feature collaborations with his Young Money label mates such as Nicki Minaj, Drake, Jay Sean, Tyga, Lil Twist and Jae Millz. The unfinished video for the title track leaked onto the internet a few days ago showcasing some of Weezy’s tattoos that apparently glow in the dark.

“It was his concept to shoot the black light, because that way the tats that he has, they glow in the dark,” said the video’s director David Rousseau to MTV News. “He came up with that idea. So really, the rest of the video was a springboard on that.”

Kid Cudi Admits Past Cocaine Use

Kid-Cudi

Posted: Monday – September 20, 2010

Kid Cudi was arrested in June for possession of a controlled substance following an incident where he allegedly tore a woman’s apartment door off its hinges. It was later confirmed that he had cocaine on him and for the first time he is openly speaking out about his drug use. According to Cudi, he turned to cocaine to help him cope with some of the side effects of fame.

“People wanted to know a lot about my personal life and I wasn’t prepared for a ’60 Minutes’ interview every time,” said Cudi to Complex. “Doing bumps [of Cocaine], I was able to get through the day, but then I would smoke weed to calm me down — it was the only way I could get through the day without people noticing I was doing it.”

After walking out of court, Cudi says it dawned on him that he was about “to piss it all away for some bullshit,” and that the public would now be looking at him like he was “some type of fucking crack head.” But the birth of his daughter helped him turn things around.

“She’s my best friend and she doesn’t even know it,” he said. “That’s why I always told myself I’m going to make these songs for my kids, so they can follow along and know my story, if something was ever to happen to me.”

In other news, Cudi’s Man On The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager will be released later this year.

Beef Sprouts Up Between Wale And Kid Cudi

Kid Cudi and Wale are at odds and the fray has spilled into the public.

The bulk of the beef manifested itself in an interview with Complex magazine, where Kid Cudi explained that he was “unfuckwittable.” He said that Wale, a former friend, made reference to him where there was a comparison to various genres of sports.

“Did you see that Wale interview that he just did, comparing us to sports? Let me clear this up: I’m incomparable to anybody. I don’t care how people take that. No one can compete with me. I’m unfuckwittable; no one can knock me off my shit. I’m an unstoppable force, I’m a bullet. My trajectory is to the sky. Niggas got to do something really spectacular to fuck with me and my realm, and niggas be so bitter that you hear it in their voice.”

The freestyle from Wale made reference to an incident where Cudi punched a man that got on stage during his performance. Cudi also said that Kanye West, who signed the Cleveland rapper to G.O.O.D. Music, doesn’t like Wale’s music.

On Twitter, Wale responded “niggas lettin that liquid cocaine get to them…..lets go then.” The remark is a slight to Cudi’s arrest in June on charges that he was using the substance. Cudi has since admitted to using it.

Cudi said he would no longer tolerate disrespect his interview with Complex.

“The last album, I let people dis me, throw out those jabs in their verses and have their little slick remarks. This time around, I’m not fucking around. I have no time to think about other niggas. These other motherfuckers like feeding off another nigga’s energy, so they mention their name. You hear me talk about niggas? I don’t even talk about Kanye, and that’s my homeboy! They talk about Kanye like they’re bosom buddies with this nigga. Talking about “I be in Hawaii”—man, shut the fuck up, why you got to tell everybody everything? Then people like Wale get mad that ‘Ye ain’t give him no beats—’Ye ain’t give you no beats because we ain’t fucking with your raps. It’s not a conspiracy theory. We don’t f*ck with you musically, so we’re not going to provide music for you. The shit is a service, it’s a quality of a certain standard. Niggas are just so thirsty it’s ridiculous. I’ve been eating humble pie forever, and people still call me an a**hole. These people don’t know my fucking life—now I’m going to give them something to talk about.”

Wale has not commented further.

Rapper Busta Rhymes is facing more court action and his been sued for $250,000 by a woman who claims he threw a glass at her at Mr. Chow’s in Beverly Hills, California.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed earlier this week, a woman named Devin Cooper and a companion were eating at Mr. Chows at a table next to the rap star.

Trouble started when a woman with Busta Rhymes claimed Cooper and her companion were too close to the rapper’s table.

Cooper claims she tried to reposition her chair to calm the woman’s down, but the woman continued to instigate the situation.

The lawsuit claims that when Cooper attempted to further diffuse the situation by asking the woman to calm down, Busta Rhymes snapped and yelled at the woman.

Cooper claims that she attempted to carry on with her dinner, but Busta allegedly threw a drinking glass at her, missing her by “inches.”

Cooper is seeking $250,000 for assault and battery.

Last week, Busta Rhymes’ name popped in a copyright infringement lawsuit over a track on his former group’s debut album. Drive-In Music claims Busta Rhymes and Leaders of the New School illegally sampled music on their 1991 hit single “Case of the P.T.A.”

Promoters Sued For False Drake/Ciara Concerts

Two promoters are being sued by an entertainment company after they failed to make good on their promises. 80’s Baby Entertainment say they paid Carlos Goodspeed and Jason “DJ J Rudd” Rudd a deposit with the understanding that they could secure rapper Drake and several other artists for two separate concerts but the two never delivered the superstar and then failed to return the deposit.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed on Monday (September 13), 80’s Baby first contacted Goodspeed back in March 2009. The company forked over $27,500 to bookCiaraPliesSoulja Boy, and Webbie for a Summer Jamconcert but was told later that Ciara had to back out. Goodspeed allegedly promised to return the deposit to the company once the R&B singer’s label refunded the money, however 80’s Baby never saw a dime.

The issue became bigger in July 2009, when the company decided they wanted to book singer Jamie Foxx through another promoter. They needed the deposit they paid Goodspeed for the new concert but still couldn’t retrieve the funds so they weren’t able to seal the deal.

The complaint, then fast forwards to December, when the company started working with a third party and this time they linked up with Rudd in the hopes of booking Drake. They paid a $20,000 fee and in the claim state that contract says that if the Young Money MC was a no-show, their deposit would be returned.

What they didn’t know though at the time was that Rudd and Goodspeed were linked and the money they gave to Rudd actually went into an account that Goodspeed controlled. Again they were misled and they have yet to see either of their deposits.

80’s Baby is accusing the two promoters of fraud, breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation and theft of service and is seeking to recoup $50,000 and an undisclosed amount in damages.

T.I. gets Summoned to Court following LA Arrest

ti

Posted: Friday – September 17, 2010

Here we go again…Rapper T.I. has been summoned to court in Atlanta following his recent arrest in Los Angeles.  The rapper/actor known as “King of the South,” will now deal with the Judge of the Law to talk over violations of probation.

According to E! Online, T.I. will be in federal court in Atlanta for his summons.  He’ll have to discuss why he shouldn’t be sent back to prison after a recent drug arrest in Los Angeles.  That incident saw both T.I. and wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle charged with drug possession.

T.I.’s previous imprisonment came as the result of weapons charges.  The presiding judge in the case was District Court Judge Charles Parnell, who also summoned the rapper back to court for the latest probation discussion.  T.I. blatantly ignored probation terms by submitting a bad urine sample (opiates) and by hanging out with convicted felon Cortez Thomas.  Oh yeah, and you shouldn’t get arrested when you’re on probation…bad move.

Has T.I. become the Lindsay Lohan of rap or hip-hop music, or would you consider Lil’ Wayne more of the Lindsay Lohan story?  Both seem to have their issues with staying out of trouble on probation.  Both have had problems with drug possession and weapons charges.  Lil’ Wayne is currently serving a sentence, while T.I. already did.  It seems T.I. and Lil’ Wayne are much more successful despite their charges and issues, while Lindsay keeps trying for that elusive comeback.  Maybe these two are destined to release a collaboration album together, because they certainly have plenty in common and lots of new material to give to music!
