Chief Keef was in Atlanta this past weekend to perform at Birthday Bash, during which time he revealed that he’d inked a new deal with Interscope Records. We already knew that Birdman was courting the Chicago rapper, but T.I. told MTV News that he’d had his eye on Keef as well. Backstage at Birthday Bash, Tip gave the youngster the ultimate co-sign. “Chief Keef, I feel like he represents a part of America,” T.I. told MTV News. “He represents a part of the youth in America that ain’t really got a voice right now.

T.I.’s back in album mode.
After dropping his Fuck the City Up mixtape earlier this year, the Grand Hustle general is now readying the release of his eight LP, Trouble Man, tentatively due out this summer. Tip says fans can expect the album’s next single, “Love This Life”—produced by Mars (of 1500 or Nothin)—to impact in the next few weeks.
“It’s speaking to woman, but from a man’s perspective,” Tip told XXLMag.com regarding the song’s concept. “People who find themselves in a situation where the woman might say she wants to part ways with the man, but the man [is] like, ‘Let’s be sensible about this. You gonna leave all this? And go where?’ That’s what he is sayin’, the gentleman is sayin’.
“I know there’s a lot of guys out there who find themselves in positions on all levels of life, not just as a rich man, but you have people who treat a woman the way she wants to be treated,” he continued. “There aren’t a lot of men out there who can offer that same kind of security, affection and protection; that will be kind of the song.”
T.I.’s been happily married to Tiny Cottle for a-year-and-a-half— as documented on VH1?s T.I. & Tiny: The Family Huslte—so he had to look elsewhere for inspiration.
“I seen a close patna of mine going through it with his child’s mom and I just saw how she was trying to carry him through all the unnecessary drama and stress she was taking him through and I thought to myself, ‘C’mon on now, where else can you go and live like that,” he explained. “Who else would have treated you like he treated you’ and you gonna drag him like that, that’s not right. So that kinda inspired me to do it.”

Just yesterday, T.I.’s Grand Hustle record label was the victim of a bomb scare. As previously reported, police were called to the scene after two Molotov cocktails were found near the label’s office. Now the CEO of the company Jason Geter is speaking out in his co-founder’s absence about the incident. Geter spoke with reps for MTV News about what occurred.
According to him, an alarm went off around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday. When Grand Hustle staff went to investigate the situation, they discovered that one of the windows had been broken by a 40 oz. bottle. No suspects have been named as of yet, but Geter did tell the news network that he has someone in mind.
“A kid came over there a couple of days ago that acted kind of crazy, I wasn’t there, but some kid that was a little off was pretty much asking for somebody to come to his party. He got a little irate when he was in the office. We’re kind of assuming it was him. He made a couple of threats when he was in the office. Two days later, this happens. You can’t help but say, ‘It must have been this idiot.’”
The record label is moving on from the incident and preparing for Young Dro’s release, P.O.L.O. a.k.a. Players Only Live Once.

T.I.’s Grand Hustle studios are currently being investigated after explosives were found in front of the building.
Atlanta police and a SWAT team were called to the scene after two Molotov cocktails were discovered.
Atlanta police officer Otis Redmond told Fox 5 Atlanta that the suspicious packages were reported by someone leaving the building.
“One of the occupants came out early this morning to start his car up and noticed two suspicious bottles sitting on the front portion of the walkway.”
Sources for Grand Hustle dispute the reports however and told HipHopWired that the explosives were near the office and not in front of the building.
HipHopWired will keep you posted as the story develops….
