Is this some form of Hip-Hop blasphemy or something?
Known for being part of Biggie Smalls’ clique during the Junior M.A.F.I.A. days when the rapper was alive, Lil Cease is one of the rare rappers today that can say they were actually with the late great Black Frank White.
With that being said, it’s almost puzzling that Cease would make such a claim and state that Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj are the most comparable to Lil Kim and The Notorious B.I.G.
An interview with MTV revealed what Cease finds in Ross that he saw in his late friend.
“He’s lyrically hands-on. Just his whole swag, to me, he’s just the dude. That big black dude. Every time I see him, he gives the feel of just B.I. Just his whole swag too. He’s got that confidence that B.I. had. B.I. was real confident. No matter how he looked, he would say it in rhymes: ‘Fat, black and ugly as ever.’ That’s one of the most quoted lines.”
In regards to Minaj being similar to Lil Kim, it’s all about her presence.
“Nicki ain’t really got too much competition out there. Ain’t too many female rappers out there. But she’s a female, one that’s bringing the sex appeal back to it. No matter what Kim talked about, she had the appeal to it. Kim would dress up. She looked like a lady. Kim could rap about the hardest thing ever, but she would still dress up: hair done, she still got on the flyest stuff. Nicki is kinda taking it to that same mind frame. She’s having fun with it too.”
First Diddy was saying it and now Cease? Man, it feels like the twilight zone. Next thing you know, Teflon Don is going to be Ready To Die? Let’s pray otherwise.

Lil Wayne was busted at Rikers Island Prison Monday morning after officials found him with “music contraband.”
As previously reported Wayne’s stay at the prison is being documented, with a prison guard being fired for “spying on him” in previous weeks and a visit from Diddy being heavily scrutinized.
Now Weezy reportedly was caught breaking the rules after sneaking in a MP3 player, a charger and headphones.
According to The New York Daily News, Weezy was found with the contraband around 8 a.m. Monday morning.
After being tipped off by another prisoner, officials found a charger for an MP3 and earphones hidden in foil and a bag stuffed in Lil Wayne’s trash.
A source tells the paper that a subsequent search found another inmate in the same wing with the accompanying MP3 player but still have no idea how Wayne got the banned items.
Wayne and his companion will be charged with an infraction for contraband.
No word on what effect, if any, this will have on his sentence.

After the flop of R&B singer Kelly Rowland’s second album, she has changed up her look and sound for the lead single Commander which will appear on her upcoming third album. The video, which was directed by Masashi Muto, features Rowland in a custom-made wardrobe and five inch heels showing off her new moves taught to her by choreographer Fatima Robinson.
“The whole concept is very futuristic, very cool. It’s about me being the commander above anything, but it adds a different element of a club atmosphere — a very big atmosphere with very cool people. I’m battling myself with hair, with makeup, with the routines. I had to pull out my dancing shoes for this video.”
Although the album has yet to receive a title, Kelly Rowland confirmed that she has a track with rapper Nelly and hopes to work with T.I. and Diddy. The album is expected to be due out in mid-September.
Commander was produced by French house producer David Guetta who says fans will be enthralled by her new look and sound.
“Kelly’s look in this video is just utterly sexy. It’s like a jungle feel. I feel like we’re in Avatar somewhere, running through the woods, minus the blue paint.”

Hip Hop’s top mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs, recently denied the rumors that he was managing Rick Ross or even Nicki Minaj.
“For the record, as I said before, don’t believe the rumors,” Diddy said on a UStream broadcast.
“I have not made no announcement yet, don’t believe no rumors about anything y’all hear. me and Nick, we just cool. I like her style. Rick Ross, he’s my brother. There’s no management announcements or none of that. So everybody, worry about what you’re worrying about. It’s all right for people to know each other and have an admiration towards each other and maybe pick each other’s brains for advice. I will be making an announcement in a couple of weeks on some things. But right now, everybody let’s chill out and be cool and stay focused on being positive…”
