Snoop Dogg has rapped in songs where gay slurs have been tossed about. He’s even said them, part of a long list of rappers who have freely fuck and fag in a rhyme.For years, anti-gay epithets and sentiments in rap have largely been accepted, along with its frequent misogyny and violence, as part of the hip-hop culture — a culture that has been slow to change, even as gays enjoy more mainstream acceptance, particularly in entertainment.

Even when the man they called “Jimmy Henchman” was on trial earlier this month for running a cocaine ring, his ties to the feud that led to the murders of two hip-hop legends preceded him. On Friday, Manhattan officials charged James Rosemond with arranging the murder of an associate of the rapper 50 Cent. On June 5, Rosemond was convicted in a Brooklyn federal court of peddling millions of dollars worth of cocaine. Rosemond, 47, was indicted for conspiring with five other men to kill the associate, Lowell Fletcher, in 2009. “This has not been a good month for Jimmy the Henchman,” Raymond W. Kelly, the New York police commissioner, said in a statement.

Fif has provided the outside world with an update on the incarcerated boxing champion’s situation. The G-Unit leader revealed that Floyd Mayweather Jr. was having a tough time in jail. The beginning of Mayweather’s 3 month stint behind bars has been far from glamorous, according to Fif. During an interview with MTV, the rapper claimed that his friend, and undefeated boxing legend, Mayweather, had been finding things difficult inside. Mayweather is currently serving a 3 month sentence for the domestic battery of his ex-girlfriend in front of their two children.

50 Cent has confirmed that his next official LP, Five (Murder By Numbers), is set to drop on July 3. In a wide-ranging conversation with Philadelphia radio station Hot 107.9, which comes off his recent appearance on “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” Fif also touched on label politics and boxer Floyd Mayweather’s stint in prison. The new album, which follows the back-to-basics Lost Tape and The Big Ten freebies, will be the last in his turbulent deal with Interscope. “I said I was gonna put a record out that was completely up to album standard, and I’m gonna do that. I worked on this album for a long time. It’s been three years,” he said.

The G-Unit head honcho recently revealed the name of his next LP. 50 Cent has finally given fans some more information about his frequently delayed fifth studio album. Fif revealed the album title in an interview with Hot 107.9 Philly. Apparently, the album will simply be entitled, Five (Murder by Numbers). Not long after 50 made the announcement, the radio station issued a tweet on the subject: “@50cent has a new album dropping July 3rd called Five (Murder by Numbers). Make sure you go and get that.”

50 Cent is being accused of sampling a song without permission on an album he released for free online nearly three years ago — and the guy suing claims 50 knows he took the song … but just doesn’t care! According to a lawsuit filed in New York, Robert Poindexter of The Persuaders claims 50 used a snippet from his band’s song “Love Gonna Pack Up and Walk Out” on a song called “Redrum.”
