Jermaine Durpri Out Of Million$$$$

jermaine dupri

Hip Hop mogul Jermaine Dupri says his bank wined-and-dined him, then treated him like an uneducated idiot in a plot to snatch millions of dollars from him … GW has learned. We broke the story … Sun Trust Bank sued the So So Def founder first, claiming he defaulted on a $5 million loan. The bank wanted $2 million for the balance plus interest … AND his entire EMI music catalog. Now, Dupri is firing back with a counter lawsuit … and in the docs, he says he secured a $5 million loan in 2009 with his ST personal banker — a man he’d worked with for years, who was lenient on loan payments and hooked him up with swag: ATL Falcons tickets, dinners, and more.

TECH N9NE – SOMETHING ELSE

tech-n9ne-something-else-deluxe

“Something Else” in all of its intense, loud, confusing and obnoxious glory is fluid in its musical movement and sincere in its content. If someone merged almost every musical genre and trapped them in a kaleidoscope, it would sound like Tech N9ne’s thirteenth studio album, Something Else. Comprised of delectable guitar riffs, Heavy Metal pleasures fused with simplistic yet versatile beats and proactive, bloodcurdling sounds, the “Riot Maker” delivers an impressive project most wouldn’t have the balls to create. Broken down into three integral parts: fire, earth and water, the Kansas City native serves up a striking album that speaks to the complexities and contradictory nature of man. Extremely candid and reflective, Tech covers much ground, as the album becomes your compass through his evil brain/angel heart.

ACE HOOD – Trials & Tribulations

ace-hood-trial-tribulations-1375122471

Ace Hood spends most of “Trials & Tribulations” running down a list of topics he feels listeners want instead of creating compelling music that comes naturally. Charting Ace Hood’s significance within the Rap game is a tall order, which is quite perplexing given his resolute foray into making music for the streets. Take for instance his lead single, “Bugatti.” It’s relentless and catchy, marking his biggest hit since 2011’s “Hustle Hard.” However, calling it an achievement solely on his part would be an inaccurate claim. One could even go as far as to say he’s the record’s weakest link, with Future’s syrupy hook and Mike WiLL Made It’s vicious backdrop setting the tone for its success. And that’s the thing; no artist of his (supposed) caliber takes as much criticism as they do praise. Ace Hood is his own worst enemy, and his latest album Trials & Tribulations is a prime example of why that is.

10 Producers Bridging The Gap Between Electronic Music And Rap

dre

Today’s musicians are so imbued with decades of influences that the art they produce is often hard to classify, and become harder by the day. R&B and rap have always held hands throughout the ’80s and ’90s, but in the increasingly technological age, a more industrial, techno sound has started to creep into hip-hop. We decided to investigate the middle ground between the two genres and look at some DJs and producers who are carving their own unique sounds by taking bits and pieces from some genres to make a new kind of music that doesn’t really fit into any one category.
