Flesh-N-Bone Says He Never Hit His Mama With A Gun

Rapper Flesh-N-Bone, nee Stanley Howse, says he didn’t hit his mother with a gun more than a decade ago, an alleged assault for which he was arrested just last month during a concert in Cleveland. The 36-year-old rapper said Wednesday night before performing in Atlanta that he did not remember the 1998 incident.

“It didn’t happen,” Howse said, while fellow members of the group Thugs-N-Harmony — Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone and Wish Bone — sat beside him.

“I would never do anything like that to my mother,” he says. “Anyone that thinks I would do something like need to check themselves.”

Howse is accused of leaving a 1-inch gash on his mother’s head. An Atlanta sheriff’s spokesman said the rapper’s mother and two witnesses described the incident before police moved in to arrest him backstage in March.

Howse said he and his mother have a solid relationship and she is still very upset about his arrest. But the rapper does have a rap sheet: He was released from a California jail in 2008 after being sentenced for assault with a rifle and being an ex-convict with a gun.

Thugs-N-Harmony won a Grammy in 1997 for best rap performance for the song “Crossroads.”

Sounds like Mr. Bone’s career may also be at a crossroads.
