Keyshia Cole is sorely mistaken if she believes she got bumped to make room for a singer named The Weeknd at a concert in Oakland this week — at least according to the San Fran radio station behind the show … because fact is, she wasn’t headliner material to begin with. Keyshia went off on Twitter Monday night — the same night as KMEL 106′s Holiday House of Soul concert — claiming she bailed on the show because KMEL contacted her last minute to tell her she’d be opening for The Weekend … instead of headlining the show herself.
Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill has been barred from touring for a month after a judge found he violated probation restrictions associated with a 2008 drug and gun conviction. Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley said Monday the rapper, whose real name is Robert Williams, violated an order restricting his performance scheduling and failing to properly keep in touch with his probation officer.
Flavor Flav was arrested early this morning in Vegas after allegedly assaulting someone in his house with a deadly weapon, TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, Flav — real name William Drayton Jr. — allegedly got into a heated verbal argument with a teenager in his house, as well as his fiancee. His fiancee then called 911.
Snoop Dogg has blasted Kim Kardashianin an web video in which he calls her a “cold-blooded bitch”.
The rapper has released the video online under his alter-ego Nemo and in it he addresses the socialite’s estranged husband Kris Humphries – who Kim dumped in October after just 72 days of marriage.
Snoop’s words of advice to the basketball player include telling him he should never have tried to “wife the bitch” because she gets around.
In the video – posted on mrgrassys.com – the hip-hop star says: “First advice is you should have never tried to wife the bitch man. She’s not that type of a ho, she gets around … She’s cold-blooded, I’m pretty sure she’ll have a book in a month talking about all the niggers that she got and how she played them. So, my advice is you can’t make a ho a housewife. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel.”
Snoop also mentions two of Kim’s ex-lovers, NFL player Reggie Bush and singer Ray J, who is his cousin.
The ‘Wet’ rapper claims Ray J – who appeared in a home made sex tape with Kim which was eventually released on DVD – is the only guy who “bounced back from the bitch”.
A songwriter named Christine Dominquez has filed a lawsuit against producers Kinetics and One Love over the hit single Airplanes, which went on feature southern rapper B.o.B. and Paramore’s Hayley Williams.
In the civil complaint, Dominquez claims that she co-wrote the track with the production duo, whose real names are Jeremy Dussolliet and Tim Sommers, but never received compensation or credit for her work.
She was contacted by the two back in 2008 about writing Airplanes and they even recognized her contributions on a less successful alternate version of the single that was released in 2009, but they didn’t give her any credit for the B.o.B. hit, which was released a year later. A remix version of the track was also released featuring Eminem, she wasn’t credited for that either.
“In a transparent effort to keep all the credit and earnings for themselves despite Dominguez’s substantial contribution to the joint work, defendants omitted her from the listing as the author of Airplanes on the 2012 release and elsewhere,” reads the suit. “Nor have the defendants accounted to Dominguez for revenues derived, either from the 2010 release, or any other source.”
Dominquez is suing for unfair competition and copyright infringement, amongst other charges. B.o.B. is not targeted in the lawsuit.
Snoop Dogg’s laid-back flow is one of the most consistent and dependable things in music, hip-hop or otherwise, and since the early ’90s, he’s made just about every track he’s guested on better. Now comes a true test of his abilities: In an interview with the New York Post, Paris Hilton has revealed that the Long Beach rapper will appear on her next album.
“It should be out in the next few months,” the heiress, reality star and sometime pop singer told Page Six, dishing about her forthcoming sophomore record. “We just finished doing my single with [band] LMFAO, then I’m recording with Snoop Dogg.”
The album is being produced by Hilton’s boyfriend, Afrojack, a Dutch DJ and dance artist known for his work with Pitbull and Beyonce, among others. Last year, he remixed Snoop’s single “Sweat,” which might explain how the Doggfather became involved with this project.
Or maybe Snoop liked what he heard back in 2009, when he and Paris — or Sweet P, as he dubbed her — busted some freestyle rhymes on his MTV show ‘Dogg After Dark.’ The clip below doesn’t leave us with much hope for the upcoming team-up, but maybe they’ve been practicing.
